The New York Chapter of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is hosting its annual Constitution Day Luncheon. The event will feature an insightful panel discussion on the revolutionary successes of the Voting Rights Act throughout its fifty year history, recent backlashes against those successes, and the path forward for voting rights and democratic participation in the United States.

WilmerHale Partner Debo Adegbile will be the introductory speaker and the panelists include Ari Berman, author and political correspondent; Julie Fernandes, former Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Voting Rights in the US Department of Justice and Senior Policy Analyst at the Open Society Foundations; and Gerry Herbert, veteran voting rights litigator and Executive Director of the Campaign Legal Center. The discussion will be moderated by Josh Rosenkranz, partner at Orrick and founder of the Brennan Center for Justice and New York’s Office of the Appellate Defender.
