WMACCA Corporate Law Forum: The New Focus on Audit Committees

Speaking Engagement
The Washington Metropolitan Area Corporate Counsel Association will host a Corporate Law Forum exploring the new focus on audit committees. New regulatory developments, including initiatives by the SEC and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, have placed a renewed emphasis on the duties and responsibilities of the public company audit committee. Regulators continue to emphasize the importance of the audit committee in overseeing the company’s financial reporting process and independent auditors, and to add to the list of matters the audit committee should consider in this process. In addition, regulators and others have advanced proposals on matters such as mandatory audit firm rotation, expanded auditor reporting, and enhanced disclosure about the work of audit committees. This event will provide insight into these current developments and help in-house lawyers advice their management and audit committees about the rapidly-changing audit committee environment.

Speakers for this event include WilmerHale Partner Thomas W. White, the leader of the PwC Center for Board Governance Mary Ann Cloyd, and an in-house panelist. In addition to the live seminar, this program will be streamed online via webcast.
