Lauren Ige focuses her regulatory and government affairs practice on matters involving antitrust and competition. She has extensive experience representing clients in a broad range of antitrust and competition matters, including criminal and civil investigations, litigation, merger clearance, and counseling. In 2022, Ms. Ige was part of the trial team that won a precedent-setting victory for client DaVita in the first-ever trial of a criminal labor market allocation case brought by the Department of Justice. Ms. Ige has represented clients across multiple industries, including technology, healthcare and airlines.

Ms. Ige maintains an active pro bono practice focused on immigration matters.

While attending law school, Ms. Ige was a summer associate at the firm, an intern in the Antitrust Division of the US Department of Justice, and a volunteer legal intern for the AARP Legal Counsel for the Elderly. She previously worked as a staff assistant in the office of US Senator Mazie Hirono.

    • Representing DaVita in one of the first-ever criminal labor market allocation cases brought by the DOJ.
    • Representing a capacitor manufacturer in the DOJ’s investigation of that industry and in follow-on private class action litigation.
    • Representing a foreign exchange trader in an OCC enforcement action charging safety and soundness and fiduciary duty violations.
    • Representing a major technology company in a Hart Scott Rodino “device to avoid” investigation by the US Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission.
  • Merger Clearance

    • Advising an ultra-low-cost airline in its application for antitrust immunity before the DOT.
    • Assisting Danaher Corporation in connection with the global merger review of the $20 billion acquisition of GE Healthcare’s Biopharma business.
    • Assisting Baker Hughes in connection with the global merger review of the $32 billion combination with GE Oil & Gas.
    • Assisting three major Japanese container shipping carriers in the US and EU antitrust reviews of their 1,440,000 TEU joint venture, Ocean Network Express.
    • Preparing an executive of a major telecommunications company for testimony before the Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights.
