Habenicht, Jeff

Jeffery Habenicht focuses his practice primarily on investigations and criminal litigation. Mr. Habenicht is fluent in Spanish and has been involved in numerous matters in Latin America, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations and advising. In addition to his Latin America practice, Mr. Habenicht has also been involved in numerous domestic investigations regarding clients in the financial and technology sectors. Mr. Habenicht has also been active in pro bono asylum work, representing numerous clients at all levels of proceedings, including representing clients before the Ninth Circuit and the US Supreme Court.

Mr. Habenicht rejoined the firm following a clerkship with the Honorable Marilyn C. Huff of the US District Court for the Southern District of California. During his time at Harvard Law School, Mr. Habenicht was a trial division legal intern at the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts. He was also a clinical intern at the Appeals Unit of the United States Attorneys' Office in Boston. In law school, Mr. Habenicht served as the director of the Ames Moot Court program and was a member of the Board of Student Advisers.

Before law school, Mr. Habenicht completed an MA in Psychology at Boston University. While completing his graduate studies, he was a teaching fellow in the Psychology Department at Boston University, leading undergraduate discussion sessions in statistics and social psychology. Prior to law school Mr. Habenicht also served as a legislative intern in the Office of US Senator Carl Levin researching domestic energy and environmental policy for legislative staff.
