Megre, Iya

Iya Megre is a senior associate who has a diverse litigation practice.

In 2013, when Ms. Megre was a summer associate at the firm, she worked on a variety of litigation and enforcement matters including internal investigations, compliance and evidentiary issues.

At Yale Law School, Ms. Megre was a student director for the Immigration Legal Services Clinic at the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Organization; while there, she successfully represented a client in a Convention Against Torture claim in Immigration Court. Ms. Megre was also a member of the Media Freedom and Information Access Clinic, where she worked on cases involving the First Amendment and freedom of information.

Prior to pursuing her legal education, Ms. Megre was Editorial Director of Let's Go, Inc., a travel-guide company.

Among other significant developments, 2015 saw the U.S. Department of Justice (the “DOJ” or the “Department”) document a policy priority of holding individuals accountable for corporate wrongdoing. This policy was laid out in the “Yates Memorandum”—announced by Deputy Assistant Attorney General Sally Quillian Yates—and related changes the DOJ made to the U.S. Attorney’s Manual.
