WilmerHale Reps Boston Insurance Startup Quilt in $3.25M Seed Funding

Firm News

Quilt, a venture offering self-service online insurance products, announced it raised $3.25 million in seed funding. Quilt's first insurance offering will be renter's insurance, but the company has other types of insurance coverage in the works and plans to make digital life insurance policies available.

As shared by BostInno, Quilt hopes to “engage millennials by developing an entirely digital, mobile-friendly insurance experience, so they won't have to spend hours on the phone with brokers. Price points for policies available through Quilt are intended to be lower than others and paid on a monthly basis.”

The WilmerHale team on the transaction was led by Partner Mick Bain and included Partner Ed Pease and Senior Associate Mark Nylen.
