The Boston Business Journal today held its first annual Corporate Philanthropy Awards ceremony with over 600 Massachusetts business people in attendance. The top 46 corporate charitable givers to the Boston nonprofit community received awards at the event. WilmerHale was the only law firm finishing in the top 15, and one of only three law firms included on the entire list.
The firm is proud to be recognized for its leadership position in charitable giving, which—along with its program of extensive pro bono legal services and its outreach to inner-city youth through the WilmerHale Youth and Education Initiative—helps to make Boston a center of non-profit excellence.
This honor falls on the heels of the firm’s other notable pro bono recognitions and achievements, which most recently include the receipt of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s 2006 Law Firm Pro Bono Award, again ranking near the top of Vault’s list of the most prestigious law firms, and a victory on behalf of a Senegalese teenager in his much-publicized deportation matter, winning him the right to study in the United States.
