Q2 2003 Statistics Show Hale and Dorr Continues Leadership Among VC-Backed Companies

Hale and Dorr served as company counsel in three of the ten largest venture capital financings in New England in the second quarter of 2003, as listed in the Boston Globe on August 11, 2003.Hale and Dorr also was company counsel in five of the fifteen largest second quarter New England venture capital financings.No other law firm was counsel to more than two of these fifteen companies, according to VentureOne, an independent provider of venture capital transaction data.

These second quarter statistics confirm the firm’s continued leadership in the representation of VC-backed companies. Based on statistics from VentureOne, in 2002 Hale and Dorr served as company counsel in more venture capital financings for companies based in the eastern half of the U.S. than any other law firm in the country.According to VentureOne, at the end of 2002, Hale and Dorr was also general counsel to more private VC-backed companies based in the eastern half of the U.S. than any other law firm in the country.
