Partner Franz Schwarz receives the American Arbitration Association's Distinguished Service Award

Attorney News
On November 17, 2007, the American Arbitration Association awarded Franz Schwarz with its Distinguished Service Award "for his distinguished service and support of international arbitration and mediation." Mr. Schwarz received the award at a ceremony in Paris together with Messrs. Hosking and Gusy.

Mark Appel, Senior Vice President of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (the AAA's international division), said the award came in recognition of their "extraordinary leadership of ICDR Young & International." Messrs. Schwarz, Gusy and Hosking founded this program in 2003 as a networking and educational platform for young practitioners devoted to the practice of international arbitration, and served on the program's executive board until this year. During their tenure, the program expanded to include almost 900 members from all continents.
