The Oil-Gas-Energy-Mining-Infrastructure Dispute Management (OGEMID) network honored WilmerHale’s International Arbitration Practice Group with two first place distinctions in their 2009 awards contest.
WilmerHale was given the top honor in the “Arbitration Decision of the Year” category for its work on behalf of The Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army. The firm’s International Arbitration Group led by Partner Gary Born, together with the Public International Law & Policy Group received a favorable award in 2009 for its arbitration against the Government of Sudan (GoS) in a dispute over the definition and delimitation of the Abyei Area.
Chair of the firm's International Arbitration Practice Group Gary Born also received the top honor in the “IDR-Related Book of the Year” category for his book, International Commercial Arbitration (3d ed. 2009).
