Jack Colbert Celebrated with Memorial Golf Tournament

On Monday, June 9, the late Jack Colbert will be honored with the first-ever Jack Colbert Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will take place at the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton, Massachusetts. Mr. Colbert will be honored for his dedication and determination in seeking a cure for prostate cancer. An avid golfer, Mr.Colbert was an accomplished and competitive player at both Brae Burn Country Club and in Nantucket, where he and his family enjoyed their summers. His spirit lives on in his children, family and friends as they continue his efforts, though events like this, to raise money for prostate cancer research.

Mr. Colbert was the Executive Director at Hale and Dorr LLP. He joined the firm in 1989 and was a pioneer in the professional field of law firm executive directors. He quickly established himself as a key member of the firm's management team. Mr. Colbert passed away March 22, 2002, after fighting a long, difficult battle with prostate cancer.

In honor of his life, the memorial tournament will kick-off with lunch at 11:30-1:20 p.m., golf shot gun start at 1:00 p.m., cocktails at 6:00-7:00 p.m. and dinner at 7:00-10:00 p.m. Please click here for further information and sponsorship opportunities.

The net proceeds from the event will be distributed between the Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition and the Jimmy Fund Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Jimmy Fund Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's proceeds will be dedicated to supporting the research efforts of young clinical investigators at the organizations that comprise DF/HCC, who are making great strides in translating laboratory discoveries into effective therapies for prostate cancer.
