Client News

The firm’s international arbitration group represented the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A) in unprecedented oral hearings in the Hague’s Peace Palace from April 18-23, 2009. Gary Born and a team of the firm’s associates, together with the Public International Law and Policy Group, represent the SPLM/A in an international arbitration against the Government of Sudan in a dispute over the definition and delimitation of the Abyei Area.

Unprecedented in the world of international arbitration, the hearings, in their entirety, were broadcast live via webcasts on the Permanent Court of Arbitration website. These recordings, which can be viewed here, provide an opportunity to view some of the world’s most highly-regarded advocates in action.
