Global Investigations Review Names Kimberly Parker a Top FCPA Practitioner

Recognition

Global Investigations Review (GIR) has named Kimberly Parker to its inaugural list of Top Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) Practitioners.

To compile its list, GIR’s journalists interviewed 130 FCPA industry insiders, including practice heads, in-house lawyers and former government officials, and asked them which lawyers and forensic advisors are the best they’ve worked with on foreign bribery matters. Parker was chosen to appear on the list of 30 practitioners who, according to survey respondents, have a leading reputation for securing declinations, steering companies through major corporate crises, and producing the highest-quality work, among other standout accomplishments.

Parker was frequently singled out by industry insiders as “one of the top foreign bribery practitioners in the field,” with a practice that “continues to rise.” Her GIR profile notes that she has “advised companies on some of the most prominent international corruption cases of the past decade.” Her notable track record of FCPA representations and resolutions includes high-profile foreign bribery cases stretching back a decade, for clients such as Helmerich & Payne and Armor Holdings.

While only one person from any given firm could be included on the Top FCPA Practitioners list, GIR noted that Parker’s own prowess is “complemented by the formidable group of lawyers she works alongside.” Practitioners from other firms who were interviewed by GIR commented on the strength of the entire WilmerHale FCPA team, including Erin Sloane, Jay Holtmeier, Ronald Machen and Howard Shapiro.

Recent matters for the firm’s FCPA team include a favorable resolution for Panasonic in a matter involving subsidiary company Panasonic Avionics Corp., one of several recent FCPA settlements; an ongoing FCPA case for Glencore, the world’s largest mining company and commodity trader; and a DOJ-appointed monitorship for German medical company Fresenius.
