The annual award recognizes the firm that has implemented technology to either improve the delivery of legal services, improve efficiency in internal or client-facing operations, or improve work-life balance.

WilmerHale has a long history of developing solutions to cost-effectively deliver the highest quality client service. Audit letter responses are an important part of the firm’s representation of clients, and the firm sought to apply automated workflow tools to manage the costs associated with these responses. The process has been almost fully automated, which has reduced the time spent on each audit response while not sacrificing the quality of work. The firm has seen a measurable impact since launching this new process.

At The American Lawyer Industry Awards, the firm was also named Law Firm of the Year and WilmerHale Partner Robert S. Mueller III was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement award.
