Heather Nyong’o and Anjan Sahni Recognized as Winning Litigators by The National Law Journal

Recognition

Heather Nyong’o, a San Francisco-based partner, and Anjan Sahni, a New York-based partner and vice chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice, have been named 2019 Winning Litigators by The National Law Journal (NLJ).

The NLJ profile highlights Ms. Nyong’o and Mr. Sahni’s November 2018 victory in federal district court in New York obtaining an acquittal for Rohan Ramchandani, a foreign exchange trader who faced a sentence of up to 10 years in prison for price-fixing charges. The partners noted that the non-guilty verdict was “a remarkable result as acquittal verdicts for white-collar defendants are extremely rare and the defendants were at the center of a global price-fixing investigation.”

The profile also shares trial tips that have been key to Ms. Nyong’o and Mr. Sahni’s success, including the importance of making a connection between the client and the jury and using everyday analogies in the defense strategy.
