The American Lawyer has named Partner Naboth van den Broek to its inaugural list of Transatlantic Rising Stars, which honors lawyers under the age of 40 "for excellence in handling transatlantic matters across the key areas of corporate, finance and disputes, as well as commitment to pro bono, and outstanding transatlantic strategy."

As one of only nine honorees worldwide, Mr. van den Broek is described as representing "Fortune 100 companies on both sides of the Atlantic in global trade and investment matters." The American Lawyer also cited his work involving the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations.

"These lawyers and their firms should be very proud of their achievements because the competition was stiff," said Kim Kleman, editor-in-chief of The American Lawyer. "Thriving transatlantic work has been key to law firm prosperity."

Naboth van den Broek is a Dutch national who practices out of WilmerHale’s offices in Washington DC and Brussels. He focuses on international trade and investment disputes and global public policy and strategy matters. He is a member of the firm’s Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, the International Trade, Investment and Market Access Group, and was one of the founders of the firm’s EU Regulatory Group. He has been involved in nearly four dozen major WTO disputes, including the ongoing EC- and US-Aircraft disputes, prominent prior disputes such as EC-IT Products, EC-Biotech, Argentina-Import Licensing. and numerous others, and has represented clients in a range of transatlantic and global public policy and strategy issues, and in bilateral, regional and multilateral negotiations. 

He is often retained to advise clients on major global legal and policy issues where US-EU collaboration is key. Apart from the US-EU TTIP trade negotiations, this includes other major trade, investment and global economic and policy debates.

Winners were honored during an awards dinner on June 4 at Fishmongers’ Hall in London.
