American Bar Association: The 12th Annual National Institute on the Banking Law Basics

This course, presented by The American Bar Association Center for Continuing Legal Education, will provide practitioners with an understanding of the basic laws and regulations governing banks and bank holding companies. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn the basics of banking laws speakers discuss a wide breadth of topics including the structure and intent of bank regulation; the impact of Gramm-Leach-Bliley and Sarbanes-Oxley; permitted investments and activities of banks, bank holding companies and financial holding companies; securities and capital market activities of banks and bank affiliates, insurance activities and cross-industry mergers, geographic expansion and mergers and acquisitions; supervision and enforcement, as well as other fundamentals of banking law.
