Boston University School of Law, We're All In This Together: Preparing the Modern Business Lawyer

Boston University School of Law
Speaking Engagement

At this Corporate Counsel Celebration event, Boston University School of Law (BU Law) wants to thank and recognize the role of dedicated in-house counsel who train BU Law students on-site each semester and who host them as graduate Fellows to prepare them for the complex and shifting needs of today’s corporate and business clients. Featured keynote speaker is Ben W. Heineman, Jr., former senior vice president and general counsel of the General Electric Company and now senior fellow at Harvard University’s school of law and government.

Following the keynote is a panel of forward-thinking legal educators, in-house counsel and outside counsel to explore how these three groups can collaborate and create practical methods to prepare knowledgeable and globally aware young lawyers who can effectively carry out three core roles: technical expert, wise counselor and accountable leader. WilmerHale Partner Ed Pease will participate on the panel along with Sidd Pattanayak, assistant general counsel at Trip Advisor; Robin Walker, vice president, head of legal at Casebia Therpeutics; Stacey Dogan, associate dean for academic affairs and professor of law at BU Law; and Andy Sellars, director of the Technology and Cyberlaw Clinic at BU Law.
