Speaking Engagement

This training aims is to equip participants from private practice and/or government service with the practical skills required to handle international trade and investment disputes. The training will provide an overview of the legal framework of the multilateral trading system and investment treaty law as well as the procedural issues in commencing and responding to a claim. It will also look at West Africa’s role, in particular Ghana and Nigeria, in shaping recent trends in Investor-State arbitration. The discussions will be based on treaty text, investment instruments, cases and the experience of the trainers. Practitioners and government officials will be invited to participate.
