WilmerHale Financial Institutions Webinar: Inclusive Communities—One Year Later

WilmerHale Financial Institutions Webinar: Inclusive Communities—One Year Later

Speaking Engagement

During this program, WilmerHale Partners Debo Adegbile and Counsel Stephen Carey and Skye Perryman explore the impact of the US Supreme Court's Inclusive Communities decision one year later.

On June 25, 2015, the Supreme Court issued a decision in Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs v. The Inclusive Communities Project, holding that disparate impact claims are cognizable under the Fair Housing Act. The webinar reviews that decision and explores its impact on lending institutions in litigation and regulatory investigations and enforcement.

Topics of discussion include:

  • an overview of the Inclusive Communities decision;
  • how litigants and courts have presented and analyzed disparate impact claims post-Inclusive Communities;
  • what the Inclusive Communities decision may mean for impact claims brought under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act; and
  • emerging issues involving disparate impact in anti-discrimination litigation and enforcement.
