Federal Inspector General Investigations REGULATORY AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

Our seasoned team has represented dozens of companies, executives, and current and former officials in inspector general investigations.

Federal inspectors general have dramatically increased the frequency and scope of their investigations in recent years, making them an important enforcement concern for all companies receiving federal funds. In 2013, federal inspectors general claimed $14 billion in investigative recoveries and receivables—more than triple the amount from five years before—and thousands of suspensions or debarments. We draw on the experience of lawyers who have served in high-level positions in the departments and agencies with the most active inspectors general. Our team's experience spans more than a dozen federal agencies and includes former senior officials from the Department of Justice, Department of the Interior, Department of the Treasury, Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Central Intelligence Agency, among others. Inspector general investigations often arise in conjunction with congressional inquiries, criminal investigations and media attention. Our team particularly excels at helping clients navigate these multifaceted, high-stakes matters.
