Join Partner Gary B. Born to examine the historical rise of international arbitration, review its current state and recent developments in the field, and conclude with a prognosis for the future of international arbitration. The lecture will discuss how and why international arbitration has been used in widely diverse cultures, regions and times, as well as the criticisms that have been made of some forms of arbitration in recent years. It will also explore the parallels between these criticisms and past criticisms of international law and adjudicatory mechanisms.
