
Ying Song, PhD
Associate
Ying Song is an associate in the Intellectual Property Department. She focuses her practice on patents in the fields of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and life sciences. She has experience in patent portfolio management and development, IP due diligence in the context of a range of transactions and litigation matters, competitive landscape analyses and patentability assessments.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Dr. Song was an associate at a global law firm in Massachusetts. She was originally trained as a synthetic chemist focusing on anticancer agents, diagnostic and imaging agents, and drug delivery. Previously, she worked as a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, exploring novel anticancer agents and studying their mechanism of action. Dr. Song obtained her Ph.D. from Northwestern University where she worked on multimodal imaging agents, anticancer drugs, and drug delivery via polymeric and nanoparticles.
