Senior Associate

Shakera M. Thompson is a senior associate who advises clients on a wide range of corporate law matters, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and banking.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Thompson was an associate at another law firm in New York where she represented technology companies in domestic and cross-border acquisition and divestiture transactions; worked on shelf offerings of debt in the sovereign context and transportation industry, and Rule 144A debt offerings in the manufacturing and aerospace industries; and represented banks, commercial lending institutions and private equity funds in connection with syndicated loans and acquisition financings.

Previously, Ms. Thompson was an intern with Independence Blue Cross, where she researched and drafted legal memoranda regarding subrogation of medical expenses and the Pension Protection Act of 2006. She also worked as a paralegal at a law firm in Richmond, VA and as an eligibility worker for the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services.
