Kit Carter, PhD

Kit Carter is an experienced patent litigator with a strong technical and scientific background and a substantial record representing clients before the UK courts. Dr. Carter also has experience of European Patent Office opposition proceedings and has actively assisted with litigation in various European courts. She has significant experience of leading multi-jurisdictional teams, and managing and providing strategic coordination of cross-border patent disputes, working with advisors from across Europe, the US, Canada, Australia and South Korea.

Dr. Carter has in particular acted for some of the world’s leading innovator pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in cases relating to products including blockbuster small molecule drugs, therapeutic antibodies, medical devices, diagnostic tools and nucleic acid sequencing.

Dr. Carter holds a PhD in immunology from the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining WilmerHale, Dr. Carter was a senior associate at a leading European intellectual property firm.
