Jonathan W. Woodard

Jonathan Woodard is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation and Business Trial Practice Groups. He joined the firm in 2008.


Mr. Woodard’s practice focuses on intellectual property and complex business disputes. He has represented clients in patent infringement, trade secret and licensing disputes involving a variety of technologies, including medical devices, computer mouse products and digital imaging. Mr. Woodard handles all aspects of pretrial discovery, motion practice and trial preparation. He has experience taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses; drafting pretrial motions and briefs; handling written discovery; and managing document collection and production efforts. As an active member of several successful trial teams, he also has experience preparing witnesses for trial and conducting trial examinations of witnesses.

Mr. Woodard has also worked on several matters on a pro bono basis, including criminal cases as a Bar Advocate for the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services, and cases in conjunction with the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights relating to the hiring and promotion of minority police officers.

Mr. Woodard graduated cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 2008. During law school, he completed an internship for the Honorable Joseph L. Tauro for the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the anti-gang unit at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
