Daniel Winik

Daniel Winik focuses his practice on appellate litigation. He has argued before the US Courts of Appeals for the Sixth and Ninth Circuits and drafted briefs before the US Supreme Court (in certiorariĀ and merits proceedings) and the US Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Federal and DC Circuits. He has also participated in district court litigation of matters raising complex legal questions, and has counseled universities and other clients on a range of subjects.

Mr. Winik maintains an active pro bono appellate practice, particularly in the areas of immigration and criminal law.

Mr. Winik rejoined the firm in 2014 following a clerkship with the Honorable Sonia Sotomayor of the US Supreme Court. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Mr. Winik served as a law clerk to the Honorable Stephen Reinhardt of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Winik is a member of the Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court.
