Cyrus N. Garmestani

Cyrus Garmestani focuses his practice on intellectual property matters including patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, and patent counseling. Mr. Garmestani handles matters that span a broad range of technologies, including video decoding, cellular wireless networking, medical devices, GPU design, data encryption, remote virtual computation, WAN, LAN, satellite communications, mobile power saving, chemical synthesis, and solar cell technology. Mr. Garmestani litigates in proceedings at the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board, Federal Courts, and the International Trade Commission. Mr. Garmestani also has extensive experience litigating United States as well as international matters concerning standard essential patents.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Garmestani was an associate at another firm in Washington DC, where he litigated intellectual property matters for a variety of technology clients. Mr. Garmestani was previously an intramural research training awardee at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center, where he developed a chemical synthesis protocol for preparing standardized chromic acid plating solutions to be used for cancer diagnosis and treatment.
