Alexandra C. Boudreau

Alex Boudreau has a diverse litigation practice with an emphasis on securities litigation and investigation and complex commercial litigation. She has represented public companies and their officers and directors in federal securities litigation and enforcement matters, including securities fraud class actions, derivative litigation, and SEC, DOJ, and other governmental regulatory investigations.

Ms. Boudreau has experience working on a variety of other litigation matters, including intellectual property litigation and has represented public companies in the financial services, technology, renewable energy, and manufacturing sectors. She has experience handling all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, trial and appeals.

Ms. Boudreau also served as a Special Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County. While in that position, she tried a variety of criminal matters to both juries and judges and argued numerous evidentiary motions.  


In her spare time, Ms. Boudreau trains for and runs marathons and half marathons, including the Bay State Marathon, the Providence Marathon and the New Bedford Half Marathon.

Professional Activities

Ms. Boudreau is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the Massachusetts Federal District Court and the Federal Circuit.


  • Represents various companies and individuals in litigation, government investigations, and other matters, including:

    • Lawsuits alleging securities fraud and breaches of corporate fiduciary duties. Most recently:
      • Won dismissal of securities class action arising from Tangoe Inc.’s revision to financial statements and eventual sale;
      • Negotiated settlement of lawsuit alleging Tangoe’s former directors breached their corporate fiduciary duties in selling the company; 
      • Negotiated settlement of series of lawsuits arising from product manufacturer’s restatement of financial results; and
      • Won dismissal of lawsuit alleging former officers and directors of student loan servicer breached their fiduciary duties in sale of company.
    • Investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice, and various states’ attorneys general. Most recently:
      • Represented multinational payment processing provider in SEC investigation into accounting practices of company’s foreign subsidiary; and
      • Represented bank holding company in states’ attorneys general investigation of charges to funds
    • Responses to inquiries from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. 

    Also has experience defending clients in intellectual property disputes, including:

    • Represented wind turbine manufacturer through trial and on appeal to Federal Circuit in inventorship dispute with former employee; and
    • Defended medical device manufacturer in appeal to Federal Circuit, which ultimately affirmed the District Court’s grant of judgment as a matter of law.


Ms. Boudreau was named a "Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Star" for securities litigation in 2016–2020.
