WilmerHale has been named a finalist in the Best Diversity Initiative category of the 2022 American Lawyer Industry Awards. These annual awards honor law firms and in-house legal departments that “exemplify the exceptional ways the legal industry advises and innovates.”
The Best Diversity Initiative accolade recognizes firmwide strategies to improve diversity across several areas, such as efforts to improve diversity retention and inclusion within a firm, social justice work, or work as part of a broader industry initiative.
WilmerHale was named a finalist in recognition of our firmwide Racial Justice Reform Initiative, which was established in 2020 following the death of George Floyd, and is co-chaired by Boston-based Partner Mark Fleming and DC-based Partner April Williams. The goal of this initiative is to ensure that the firm uses its resources and expertise to bring about much-needed change and to provide focus, structure, and sustainability to the vital work being done to advance racial justice. Currently, the firm has dedicated 37,931.3 pro bono hours to this initiative.
The finalists will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on November 10, 2022.
