Monica Grewal Named a “Woman Worth Watching in STEM” by Diversity Journal

Recognition

Monica Grewal, a Boston-based partner, has been recognized by Diversity Journal in the second annual “Women Worth Watching in STEM” awards. These awards honor and celebrate women who have made significant contributions to their fields and respective organizations.

Ms. Grewal’s profile, which is featured in the Spring 2020 issue of Diversity Journal, highlights her commitment to mentoring the next generation of female leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. At WilmerHale, Ms. Grewal serves as a mentor to associates with an engineering background as they learn the practice of IP law. Outside the legal field, Ms. Grewal is dedicated to mentoring young girls, and served as a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troop, making sure the girls had opportunities to ponder the miracle of science and technology.

While great strides have been made in increasing diversity in STEM fields, Ms. Grewal notes there is still work to be done. She states that it is important to instill confidence in younger girls and get them into math, robotics, and science clubs early and that we need to continue to invest in and promote programs that make STEM fields accessible to girls.
