Christoph Harler's practice focuses on international arbitration and international white collar crime matters mainly involving allegations of fraud, bribery and corruption. Mr. Harler practices in English and German.

In addition, Mr. Harler has a corporate background and experience with M&A and other corporate transactions, such as strategic alliances, joint ventures and licensing agreements.

Experience

  • Advice of a German-based listed company regarding the worldwide implementation of a risk-based third-party due diligence process
  • Representation of a major energy provider in a DIS arbitration sited in Berlin regarding mutual obligations under a M&A agreement
  • Support of a UK-based listed company in conducting third-party due diligence in a multitude of jurisdictions in Europe, Africa and Asia
  • Representation of a leading international pharmaceutical company in a VIAC arbitration sited in Vienna over contractual guarantees following the acquisition of a new drug portfolio
  • Advice in a cross-border M&A transaction regarding the acquisition of a German medical technology company by a US-based strategic investor

Professional Activities

Mr. Harler is a member of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS), the DIS initiative of young arbitrators (DIS below 40) and the German Irish Lawyers and Business Association.
