Chavi Keeney Nana

Chavi Keeney Nana focuses her practice on government and internal corporate investigations and other criminal and enforcement matters. She has represented major multi-national corporations and financial institutions in civil and criminal investigations before the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. She has experience in matters related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), money laundering, and insider trading. Ms. Nana regularly manages complex case teams, supervises multi-jurisdictional document reviews, and prepares for and conducts witness interviews.

Ms. Nana's pro bono practice focuses on civil litigation on behalf of trafficking victims. In this capacity, she has worked with a team to obtain a multi-million dollar judgment from a former diplomat employer, has settled two cases, and will soon try a third. She has also successfully argued two asylum petitions.

Past Experience

Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Nana was a litigation associate with another firm in New York where she focused on a variety of litigation matters, as well as pro bono litigation on behalf of trafficked domestic workers. Ms. Nana served as the legal and policy assistant to the Special Gender Adviser to the Office of the Prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague, The Netherlands. In that role, Ms. Nana advised on law and policy related to sexual and gender-based crimes in international criminal law. She was a Senior Policy Officer at the Ministry of Justice, Kingdom of the Netherlands, and focused on issues of immigrant integration, women’s rights, and diversity.

Professional Activities

Ms. Nana is a member of the New York City Bar Association’s International Human Committee, as well as a liaison to the Domestic Violence Committee. She also sits on the Pro Bono Advisory Counsel for New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI).

Community Involvement

Ms. Nana is a Co-Vice President for Wellesley College, Class of 2000 and will serve as its President from June 2015-2020. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music.
