Barish Ozdamar focuses on intellectual property disputes and IP portfolio strategy/development in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device industries. His practice covers a range of technical areas, including precision medicine, gene therapy and delivery vehicles (e.g., CRISPR, AAV, and LNPs), antibodies, vaccines and other biologics, small molecule therapeutics, diagnostics (including cell-free DNA-based applications), and next-generation sequencing technologies. Dr. Ozdamar has extensive experience representing life science clients in District Court litigation, Inter Partes Review proceedings, and arbitration. He also provides counsel to clients in global transactional and diligence matters relating to IP portfolio development, freedom-to-operate/landscape analysis, licensing, enforcement, and valuation/monetization in the context of mergers & acquisitions, as well as portfolio company investment strategies.
Dr. Ozdamar’s technical training is in the area of molecular biology and genetics. Prior to his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Cornell University Weill Medical College, Dr. Ozdamar completed his Ph.D. studies at the University of Toronto, during which time he published several papers directed to cancer biology and molecular pathways regulating tumor metastasis. Dr. Ozdamar’s publication record includes four authorships in the journal Science.
