William C. Benjamin

Retired Partner

William C. Benjamin was a partner in the firm's Corporate and Transactional Department, and the Tax and Fund Formation Practice Groups. He was also co-chair of the firm's International Transactions Group. He joined the firm in 1982 and retired in 2012.

Mr. Benjamin has more than 30 years of experience advising clients on the legal and tax aspects of international business transactions. He has represented US companies in connection with their activities outside the United States, and foreign businesses and individuals with respect to their activities in the United States. He provided tax advice with respect to cross-border transactions of all kinds. He also assisted businesses and individuals with tax compliance matters and tax controversies. Mr. Benjamin drew on an extensive network of contacts throughout the world.

Professional Activities

Mr. Benjamin was a member of the New England Regional Council of the International Fiscal Association. He was also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Practical U.S./International Tax Strategies, and a member of the International Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Mr. Benjamin is a former co-chair of the International Tax Committee of the Boston Bar Association.
