Ping Hu is a senior associate in the Intellectual Property Department. He joined the firm in 2012.
Practice
Mr. Hu’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, due diligence analysis, opinions/counseling and litigation.
Mr. Hu’s patent prosecution work includes US and foreign applications in a wide range of technical fields, such as computer software and hardware, security software and system, mobile devices and applications, electronic devices, medical devices, mechanical devices, fuel cell technologies and polymer materials.
As part of his intellectual property practice, Mr. Hu has performed IP due diligence review in mergers and acquisitions transactions, negotiated patent license agreements, and handled license disputes. Additionally, he has prepared freedom-to-operate, patentability, validity and infringement opinions, and has authored confidentiality, work-for-hire and copyright assignment agreements.
Mr. Hu has participated in patent trial, arbitration hearings and US District Court hearings. He has also conducted re-exam and interference proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
