WilmerHale Named a Best Law Firm for Women for Seventh Consecutive Year

Firm News

Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers have again named WilmerHale among its prestigious "50 Best Law Firms for Women" list. Since the list was created in 2007, the firm has been recognized for family friendly policies, business development and career development initiatives that are helping to retain women attorneys and advance them into the leadership pipeline. This year, WilmerHale ranks within the top 10 firms for the total number of female equity partners.

“This year after year acknowledgement goes hand-in-hand with our culture and initiatives that support women and diversity,” said WilmerHale’s Co-Managing Partner Susan Murley. “It’s key to recognize the professional needs of female attorneys both within and outside of the workplace.”

As reported by Working Mother magazine, WilmerHale is "famed for its flexible career paths, allows attorneys to take up to a year off to deal with a family medical crisis or welcome a new child. It also offers myriad work life balance programs, smart dependent care solutions and an active women's leadership initiative."

Carol Evans, president of Working Mother Media, says, "An amazing abundance of female talent has poured into the field of law. It is critical that this talent is allowed to succeed, and that the culture of the law industry adjusts to the work life needs of women. The Best Law Firms for Women are leading the way for all law firms to follow."

This year's application included more than 300 questions about workforce representation, time off and leaves, child care, flexibility, leadership, compensation and advancement, development and retention of women.

WilmerHale will be featured in Working Mother's August/September issue and is profiled on www.workingmother.com and www.flextimelawyers.com.
