Gary Born Named as 2014 ILO Client Choice Award Recipient for Arbitration in the UK

Attorney News

Gary Born, Chair of the firm's International Arbitration Group, has been named exclusive recipient of the 2014 Client Choice Award for Arbitration in the UK from International Law Office (ILO). Mr. Born was also the winner of the Client Choice Award in 2012.

Since 2005, the Client Choice awards have recognized those partners around the world who stand apart for the excellent client service they provide. The criteria for the awards focus on the ability to add real value to clients' business above and beyond other players in the market. Uniquely, these awards survey senior corporate counsel only, with this year's winners chosen from a pool of more than 2,000 individual client assessments.

Mr. Born is the world's leading authority on international arbitration and litigation. He is ranked as one of only two "Star Performers" in International Arbitration by Chambers Global, as the sole "Star Performer" by Chambers UK and second among all London lawyers—across all practice areas—by Chambers 100 UK 2013. Acquisition International named him "Most Feared Litigator: UK" in the 2014 Dispute Resolution Awards.

Mr. Born has participated in more than 550 international arbitrations, including four of the largest ICC arbitrations and several of the most significant ad hoc arbitrations in recent history. He is also the author of leading works on international arbitration, including International Commercial Arbitration (second edition, Kluwer 2014), the leading treatise in the field, which received the American Society of International Law's Certificate of Merit for High Technical Craftsmanship and OGEMID's Book of the Year award for 2009.
