Mick Bain built a wide‑ranging corporate and transactional practice over more than three decades, joining the firm in 1993 and later serving in key leadership roles—including Co‑Chair of the Corporate Practice (2014–2021) and Chair of the Transactional Department (2021–2025). His long tenure in the firm’s transactional leadership culminated with his retirement in 2025. Mr. Bain’s work spanned domestic and international transactions, advising emerging companies through all stages of growth as well as guiding venture capital, growth equity, and strategic investors. His clients included prominent firms such as North Bridge Venture Partners, Matrix Partners, MPM Capital and Spark Capital. 

Earlier in his career, Mr. Bain served as associate general counsel of CMGI, Inc., advising on venture investments, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures across the United States, Asia, Europe and South America. He remained active in the broader legal and entrepreneurial community throughout his career, holding membership in the American Bar Association and serving as a frequent guest lecturer on entrepreneurship and corporate finance at MIT Sloan, Harvard Business School, Boston University and Babson College. His work reflected a deep and enduring commitment to supporting innovation, emerging companies and the investors who help them grow.
