Lauren Moore is a strategic advisor with experience at the intersection of law, public policy, and media. Drawing on her experience in the White House and US Senate, her practice focuses on government and internal investigations and crisis management. She has extensive experience handling sensitive internal investigations involving allegations of misconduct, harassment, and discrimination; conducting civil rights reviews; representing entities in congressional investigations; and litigating False Claims Act cases at the district and appellate level. Ms. Moore also advises on federal civil rights laws and a broad range of public policy issues.
Ms. Moore routinely advises many of the leading organizations in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. She represents several of the largest private foundations, community foundations, impact investment firms, and boards on civil rights matters, government enforcement, and crisis readiness.
Before returning to WilmerHale, Ms. Moore served in the White House Counsel’s Office, where she advised on executive orders and litigation related to civil rights policy. In that role, she worked closely with officials at the Department of Justice and agency general counsels on policy, regulatory, and litigation matters related to the administration’s agenda.
Before that, Ms. Moore served as General Counsel to Kamala D. Harris on the US Senate Judiciary Committee, where she provided strategic advice on numerous high-profile judicial confirmation and oversight hearings. She advised on questions for public hearings; led policy proposals relating to civil rights, voting rights and democracy, campaign finance, and other matters; engaged with civil rights groups, external stakeholders, and media; and advised on the strategic direction of the Senator’s work on the Judiciary Committee.
Ms. Moore’s lawyering has been recognized by Bloomberg Law, The National Law Journal, and Savoy Magazine, among others.
