Laura Schneider is a trusted advisor who counsels clients on all aspects of labor and employment law. As part of her practice, she advises on employment law compliance issues, workplace disputes, employee relations, and performance management. Ms. Schneider regularly conducts sensitive internal investigations, including with respect to allegations of unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. She also has significant experience advising clients on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and affirmative action programs, conducting comprehensive reviews of workplace culture, and helping employers develop initiatives for more respectful and inclusive workplaces. In this regard, Ms. Schneider frequently counsels clients and gives presentations about conducting racial and gender equity reviews, diversity on boards, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters.

In addition, Ms. Schneider regularly negotiates employment and severance agreements, and advises clients on the employment and labor issues associated with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Ms. Schneider provides advice on a full range of employment law issues, including those in rapidly evolving areas, such as workplace accommodations, the use of AI in hiring and recruiting, restrictive covenants, and confidentiality agreements. She also assists employers in preparing for and managing government audits in areas including employee classification and affirmative action compliance. Ms. Schneider assists clients in managing employment issues that arise at and affect every stage of the employment relationship, including for emerging companies. Ms. Schneider has represented employers before state and federal courts and government agencies in a wide range of litigation matters, including those involving discrimination and harassment, contractual disputes, unfair competition, worker classification, wage and hour claims, and the National Labor Relations Act.

Drawing on her knowledge and experience, Ms. Schneider conducts customized management training and seminars on topics including discrimination and harassment avoidance, hiring and firing, disability accommodation and leave management, compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws, and positive employee relations.

Ms. Schneider is active in the legal community, and serves as a member of the Boston Bar Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
