Partner Jamie Gorelick has been selected as one of 45 lawyers on The National Law Journal's list of Regulatory & Compliance Trailblazers. Those recognized have "devised new strategies and decisively altered the playing field." Gorelick, one of Washington's best-known litigators, has represented corporations, universities and individuals in a wide array of matters, particularly in the regulatory and enforcement arenas, involving issues spanning antitrust, privacy, environmental regulation, healthcare, securities enforcement and national security regulation.

Gorelick has deep experience in helping both the private and public sectors achieve compliance excellence. Her governmental experience includes service as Deputy Attorney General of the United States, overseeing all of the investigative and litigating resources of the Department, and as an active member of many reviews of government actions. As a member of the 9/11 Commission, Gorelick told The National Law Journal, she was a principal participant in "the broadest, deepest investigation of the country's national security and law enforcement capabilities."  

As chair of the firm's Regulatory and Government Affairs Department, as well in her leadership of the Defense, National Security and Government Contracts Practice and the Strategic Response Group, Gorelick's job is to anticipate what's ahead and "help companies instill strong compliance cultures—as well as to assess problems when they occur."
